Nicky is an experienced, accredited Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. She is a thoughtful and committed therapist, whose work experiences in the NHS, charities and private practice have grown her understanding of our humanness and the complexity of mental health.
“I work collaboratively and encourage curious and mindful exploration of both ‘self’ and ‘other’, always with an attitude of deep acceptance and an appreciation for whomever I meet”
Close to my heart is the work I have done at the Maudsley hospital alongside their Perinatal Unit. I have gained knowledge and experience in the life-changing experiences and feelings that can come up when becoming a parent. Nicky offers a specialist space for Mothers Sharing - a therapy space where the complexity and enormity of motherhood experiences can be recognised. This is a confidential space to come and talk about worries or concerns you may have. It is often difficult to feel safe enough to explore some challenging conflicts that can arise. Finding a supportive space is important whilst beginning to develop and care for yourself as a parent and individual, as well as caring for your baby.
In addition, Nicky offers long and short-term individual therapy with adults. Having worked in mental health for 10 years, she works closely with individuals with a wide range of issues: including depression, bereavement, anxiety, low self-esteem and abuse. She supports individuals with relationship difficulties, trust, intimacy, dependency and feelings of loneliness - no matter the situation or background.
Nicky has studied in-depth for a number of years and has a Masters degree in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy and has studied the emotional repercussions of Dyslexia, with Dyslexia Aware Counselling. I am a fully accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and registered with the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors/Psychotherapists.
BACP accreditation is only awarded to experienced counsellors who have fulfilled all the relevant criteria. I adhere to the BACP ethical framework, which means you can be confident that I abide by a strict code of confidentiality, that I undertake regular ongoing training and that I am appropriately supervised.

“You cannot prevent the birds of worry and care from flying over your head. But you can stop them from building a nest in your head” - (Chinese Proverb)
